Did you know, that according to the U.S. Department
of Education, children who have not developed some
basic literacy skills by the time they enter school are
three to four times more likely to drop out in later years?
Some states even estimate the number of prison beds
needed in the future by looking at current third and
fourth grade reading scores. The Humboldt Literacy
Project reports that 70% of people with the lowest level
of literacy are unemployed and 43% live in poverty.
Our children in Brevard County deserve better, and
YOU can help make a difference...one book at a time.

A Father Reads to His Children
Rolling Readers Space Coast, Inc. encourages you to join our organization. Give just
thirty minutes to one hour a week. Whether you choose our classroom Read Aloud
program or one of our two reading instruction programs, you are sure to see and feel
the difference you can make in a child' s life. Last year more than 200 volunteers
reached out to over 6,000 children in Brevard County's Title 1 elementary schools.
Sign up for a training session and become a Rolling Reader. Make the time and
make a difference...one book at a time.
In March, every child that participates in our programs receives a brand new hard
cover book, as a gift from Rolling Readers. For some of these children, this is the first
new book they can call their very own. Come be a volunteer, and share the joy of
reading.
